David CarpenterI would like to welcome you, the citizens of Lincoln County, to my campaign web site. Please join me as we begin a journey for success to gain the Republican nomination for Sheriff of Lincoln County. Let me share with you some of the responsibilities of the Sheriff of Lincoln County. The Sheriff serves as the chief law enforcement officer of the county. The Office of Sheriff has many complex responsibilities, including the management and fiscal responsibility for a 10 million dollar budget and the oversight of over 200 full and part-time sworn and civilian employees. Additional duties include the operation of a 169 bed, state of the art, detention facility and safety and security for our courthouse and court personnel.

As I begin my 26th year serving you, the citizens of Lincoln County, I feel strongly that my proven record of leadership has properly prepared me to serve you as your Sheriff. During my entire career, I have strived to stand by and honor the Law Enforcement Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, and Oath of Honor to the badge that I have been sworn to uphold. With this, it would be my honor to lead the men and women of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

The results are in and David Carpenter is the Republican Nominee for Sheriff of Lincoln County. David Carpenter won the Republican Primary with over 62% of the vote (Unofficial Results). David would like to thank the Citizens of Lincoln County for their confidence and support during this primary. David would like to ask the Citizens of Lincoln County to continue to support him as he continues his journey to become the next Sheriff of Lincoln County.

David Officially files for the Office of Sheriff of Lincoln County

On Monday February 8 at 12 noon, David officially filed his candidacy for the Office of Sheriff of Lincoln County.

David Carpenter Welcomes Home Lincolnton NC-based Alpha Battery National Guard

On Sunday, January 24, David gave the troops of Lincolnton NC-based Alpha Battery National Guard a big welcome home. Lincolnton NC-based Alpha Battery National Guard "Freedom is never free. I thank you for your dedication and duty in defending our freedom". Lincolnton NC- based Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 113th Field Artillery of the NC National Guard had been serving in Iraq since Jan 3rd 2009. After their 2nd combat tour in Iraq the Citizens of Lincoln County gave them a Patrotic welcome home.

On Saturday January 23, David and his wife Edie are shown meeting with U.S. Senator George Allen of Virginia at Republican headquarters in downtown David Carpenter Republican Sheriff CandidateLincolnton, NC. Allen was on hand to speak with local republicans about current events happening in the US. David confirmed publicly in front of a large group of local republicans of his intentions to file for Sheriff of Lincoln County in the coming weeks.
